Wilkes-Barre City Police National Night Out
The first Tuesday of August is designated Nation Night Out and is celebrated throughout the country at various times throughout the month of August in communities around the nation. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
This year the Wilkes Barre City Police Department and the Wilkes-Barre Fire Department will be observing National Night Out on Wednesday, August 14th on Public Square. The Police and Fire Departments will have personnel on Public Square providing information and participating in demonstrations such as a K-9 Demonstration as well as Fire Safety. We will have our canopy set up on Public Square throughout the event with officers and administration on hand to answer any questions or just to talk.
The police department will have officers in various neighborhoods throughout the city so you will have the opportunity to meet and speak with officers about your concerns or just to say Hello.
We are also inviting any civic, or community organizations to join us as well on Public Square to provide their information and services to the community.
The event will run from 1500 hrs until 2000 hrs
