The Excelsior Hose Company #2 and Duryea VFW once again teamed up for our annual Motorcycle Poker Run and Chicken BBQ. The event will be held on the VFW grounds on Stephenson St in Duryea. The Poker Run is a 90-mile ride. Registration is $25 for a driver and $10 for a rider; all registrations includes a Chicken BBQ dinner. The day of the event there will be bands, 50/50, basket raffles, refreshments, food and more. Registration will begin at 9 am, kickstands up at 11 am and last bike in by 5 pm. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best hand and the worst hand.
The Chicken BBQ is open to the community. Tickets are $10 per person for a half of a BBQ Chicken, sides and a homemade dessert. Chicken BBQ will begin @ 12 noon until sold out. Take outs will be available, only a limited number of tickets will be sold the day of the event.
The classic rock band, Sperazza Band, will be playing at 6 pm on the VFW grounds. The concert is a FREE event for the community, presented by the members of the VFW and Excelsior Hose Company #2. What a way to start the summer with a free outdoor concert!!!
