Osterhout Free Library

The hours for the libraries will likely change in the coming weeks as Saturday hours are added. Masks are required to enter all branches of the library. “To-go” books are available for pick up by calling your local branch directly. All returned library materials are quarantined for 72 hours before they are placed back on the shelves. The library is hosting a Summer Seafest Drive-Thru Dinner and Online Silent Auction and Raffle September 10-12. Click HERE to learn more.


Hoyt Library

The building is closed however sidewalk service is available Monday through Saturday mornings. Call the library to request your materials or email them at hoytlib@ptd.net. There is a limit of 5 items per card holder and they will contact you to set up a day and time for pick up. Book, audio book, DVD, and grab bag book bundles are available. Visit their Facebook Page for more information and to view the book bundles available. They will also offer virtual programming and online resources on their website and social media pages soon. Library materials returned to the book drop are quarantined for 96 hours before they are checked in to the library and put back on the shelves. 


Back Mountain Memorial Library

Masks are required to enter the library. Visit their Facebook Page each month to view the list of the newest titles added to their collection. Childrens book bundles are available for pick up by calling the library. The Childrens Room has its own Facebook Page and will offer a virtual story time in Spanish with take home craft bags that will be available from the library in September. Visit their Farmers Market in the Dallas High School parking lot on Saturdays from 9 AM-2 PM though October 31.


Pittston Memorial Library

The library is now open for browsing and borrowing on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 AM-2 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM-12 PM. Porch pick up is still available by calling the library, emailing pittstonlibrary@luzernelibraries.org, or by sending a message via Facebook. They will contact you to schedule the pick up of your items. Visit their website to search the library catalog and view all currently available materials. All materials can be returned to the drop box outside the library. Visit their Facebook Page to view any new books available to borrow and to view their weekly online Back-to-School series. Visit the StoryWalk® around the library with your children to read a different book each month while enjoying some time outdoors.


Wyoming Free Library

Face coverings are required to enter the library and social distancing guidelines should be followed while inside the building. Only fifteen patrons are allowed in the library at one time. There is no public seating available and the time limit per visit is 45 minutes. Curbside pick-up can be scheduled by calling the library during open hours to reserve your materials.  There are three computer stations available and usage is limited to 45 minutes. One family at a time can access the Childrens Room for 30 minutes and children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult when inside the library. Photocopies for patrons will be made by the staff. Materials should be returned to the outside book drop. Materials will be quarantined for three days before they are placed back on the shelves. Plymouth Public Library

The library remains closed to the public but there are many curbside services still available. Patrons may schedule a pick-up time for library materials during open hours. Faxing, copying, and printing can also be completed by the library staff. To reserve library materials you may call the library at 570-779-4775 and provide your library card number. Materials can be scheduled for pick-up from either the Gaylord Avenue foyer or the West Main Street foyer. Masks and proper social distancing practices are required when picking up your materials or using any of the library services. All library materials can be returned to the book drop. The staff will make copies or send faxes while you wait outside the door to the library. Copies are 25 cents per page, faxes are $1 per page and exact change is requested for these services. To have documents printed for 25 cents per page, email the library at pplstaff@luzernelibraries.org and they will contact you with a pick-up time. Download the Cloud Library app or visit the Luzerne County cloud library website to locate and digitally check out books from your local library and for free access to author discussions, e-books, e-Audio books and more. Fill out the application HERE to sign up for a library card from the Luzerne County Library System. The POWER Library is Pennsylvania’s electronic statewide database of library catalogs. View an assortment of e-resources, locate your local library, chat with a librarian, and sign up for an e-card.
