Kids Eat Free and the Limited-Time The Elf on the Shelf Menu at IHOP

November 25, 2019

Thanksgiving is only a few days away.   For many households that means a merry little elf will once again be creating mischief, magic, and wonder while reporting back to Santa Claus at the North Pole. Well, those adventurous Scout Elves have taken over the IHOP kitchen to create some yummy goodies and a special limited-time The Elf on the Shelf Menu!  From now through January 1, 2020, get in a festive mood and enjoy yummy green Jolly Cakes, Oh What Funnel Cakes, a Holiday Ham and Sausage Omelette, Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate, or a Little Elves Combo.  Can you say delicious?

We were so anxious to taste the magic the Scout Elves created so we headed over the river and through the woods to IHOP.   We couldn't decide which special menu items to try so between the five of us, we tried them all!  The red and green colors incorporated in each menu item put us right in the holiday spirit.

  • Jolly Cakes are fluffy, green pancakes topped with delicious, sweet cream cheese icing, whipped topping, and shimmery sprinkles that resemble tiny elf-sized ornaments.  The icing is sweet so if that's not your thing, I'd ask for no icing.  I loved it and ate it as is with no syrup.
  • Oh What Funnel Cakes: My boys were so excited to have the golden, crispy funnel cake, lightly dusted with powdered sugar for dinner!  They are also topped with glazed strawberries, whipped topping, and those cute little shimmery sprinkles.
  • Holiday Ham and Sausage Omelette: If you are looking for something a little less sweet, I recommend the Holiday Ham and Sausage Omelette.  It was packed full of ham, sausage, red and green fire-roasted peppers and onions, hashbrowns, and Jack and Cheddar cheese in nice fluffy eggs then topped with even more ingredients.  They are also served with pancakes.
  • Merry Marshmallow Hot Chocolate: After our meal, we all enjoyed the rich hot chocolate that is flavored with toasted marshmallow syrup and topped with more of that super yummy whipped cream and shimmery elf sprinkles.  It was the perfect "dessert" that warmed us up before going back out in the chilly weather.

We ordered the Little Elves Como meals and also enjoyed scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, and bacon.
