Playground Review: James S. Keiper Memorial Park

James S. Keiper Memorial Park 
Hamilton Ave, Kingston, PA 18704

Good size park with equipment for all ages. Mostly wood chips, but some grassy areas. It is set in an area with no traffic.




Are there any bathrooms?
Bathrooms only open certain times(baseball/softball games). Three port-o-pottys are available.

Is there parking available?
There are two parking lots on either side of the park. One is paved and bigger. It is also closer to the public community pool so pool goers also use it during summer months. The other lot is smaller. Parking is also available on streets. 

Is it handicapped accessible? 
Yes, it is handicapped accessible and a handicapped swing is also available.

Is it fenced in? 
No, the park is not fenced in. 

Are dogs allowed in the park? 
Yes. There is also a dog water fountain.

Trash Cans - YES
Recycling Cans - YES
Biking/Walking Trail - YES
Picnic Tables/Pavilion -  YES, There are seven picnic tables under a pavilion. Two more are located on the outskirts of the park. Also two grills available nearby.
Benches - YES, Three benches are in the park and four around it.
Open Fields - YES
Shade/Trees - YES, There is a moderate amount of shade.
Water Fountains - Only the one for dogs.
Vending Machines - YES, There is a cash-only vending machine, which sells Coke products, near the food stand. The food stand is open during baseball/softball games.
Ball Field/Courts - YES, There are four tennis courts, and three baseball/softball fields, as well as three batting cages. There is also a basketball court, but at the time of the visit, there were no backboards on the poles.
Pool/Splash Pad/Water Feature - The Kingston Community Pool is located next to the park and will be open June 8 - August 18, 2019. 

Is there a separate area for younger children to play?
There is new toddler playground equipment that was put in the summer of 2018. It includes two adult and baby swings.
