Our first week of nominations has been amazing! So many local businesses have been nominated. I love seeing local business owners nominate other local business owners as well. If you haven't nominated your favorite businesses yet, please follow the link below. Only the top 5 nominated will move on to the voting round! So keep sharing so your favorite businesses get more nominations.
Please keep a few things in mind when choosing your favorite businesses, think local - we are looking for your favorite locally owned businesses. No chain or big box stores. Also, they need to be located in the Macaroni Kid Wilkes-Barre territory. We cover from Route 29 to the Lackawanna River, out to Harveys Lake and every area in between. Any businesses outside those areas would fall under the territory for another Macaroni Kid Edition and would not count. Though we do love those businesses as well!

Let’s make this a FUN way to highlight the wonderful local businesses that make the Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas a fabulous place to live, shop, eat, and play!
How Do You Get Started?
From now through May 20, 2019, simply nominate your favorite businesses! Nominate as many or as few businesses as you would like. You must nominate in at least ten categories to be eligible for the prize drawing. Businesses must be locally owned and operated in the Macaroni Kid Wilkes-Barre territory. We cover from Route 29 to the Lackawanna River, out to Harveys Lake and everything in between. ONLY ONE submission per email address please; you must be a subscriber to the newsletter to nominate. You can subscribe HERE. The top 5 businesses in each category will move on to the voting stage.

What's In It For You?
Nominate your favorites (at least 10 categories) and you will be entered for a chance to win one of three $20 gift cards to a local business of your choice, compliments of Macaroni Kid Wilkes-Barre. We will be drawing a winner every week during the nomination process and one at the end of the voting process!
What's In It For The Businesses?
We will announce the winners of each category in an upcoming issue on July 1, 2019. The winning business in each category will receive free placement in our Business Directory for yearlong recognition on our Macaroni Kid website, a 2019 Macaroni Kid Gold Daisy Awards certificate to display at their place of business, and the honor of knowing that local Luzerne County families think they are the greatest! And, the ONE business or organization with the MOST votes between May 27, 2019, and June 17, 2019, will win a FREE Direct Sponsor Email to all of our subscribers. *Date based on availability and must be used before June 30, 2020.
