Summer break is almost over and the kids will be headed back to school next week. But that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! My family looks forward to back to school time because the Luzerne County Fair starts a week later! Bringing entertainment for both the young and the young at heart, it is definitely a must visit for the entire family. Enjoy rides by S&S Amusements (including a kiddie section), a petting zoo, 4-H and art exhibits, Measner Magic, arts & crafts, great food, live entertainment and so much more!
The fair also features an antique tractor display, a farmer’s market, Barnyard Olympics, games, and a princess contest. The 55th Annual Luzerne County Fair starts Wednesday, September 6th and runs through Sunday, September 10, 2017, on route 118W in Dallas, PA. Fair hours are Wednesday through
Friday from 4pm-11pm, Saturday 11am-11:30pm, and Sunday 11am-9:30pm.
The fair offers pay one price of $10 with unlimited rides and entertainment along with free parking and shuttle service and is rain or shine. Children under 2 years old get in free. On Wednesday, each person that brings in a non-perishable food item will save $2 and get in for only $8. The items collected will be given to local food banks on behalf of Luzerne Bank and the Luzerne County Fair. Senior Citizens 62 and older will pay only $5 on Thursday sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lottery. New this year will be Family Fun Day! On Sunday, children 12

The Luzerne County Fair is proud to announce that on Thursday, September 7th, We will donate $2.00 for every General Admission purchased and $1.00 for every Senior Admission purchased to the Red Cross to help with the Flood victims in Texas and Louisiana. We will also be accepting cash/check donations from September 3rd to September 10th Please help us spread the word and let's see what we can raise for this great cause and much needed assistance. The Luzerne County fair is also looking for outside organizations that would be interested in matching the funds we raise and help make this donation as helpful as possible to the flood victims.
The Luzerne County Fair is a not for profit organization comprised of service oriented clubs such as the Lions, Rotary, Kiwanis clubs and many more. The Luzerne County Fair is a community-based event that runs from September 6th to 10th 2017. This family oriented fair offers many FREE daily shows, a large assortment of carnival rides, games, and all types of food along with many agricultural displays.
The first, ‘Luzerne County Fair Express” bus will depart from the Intermodal Center, on Wednesday, September 6th at 3:15 PM and will run an approximately 45 minute loop, until the last bus departs from the Main Gate of the Luzerne County Fair at 10:30 PM. That schedule will be repeated on Thursday, September 7th, and Friday, September 8th. On Saturday, September 9th, the first bus will depart from the Intermodal Center at 10:00 AM and the final bus will depart from the Fairgrounds at 10:30 PM. www.lctabus.com. Senior Citizens, (65+), with a Senior Bus Pass and Children under fare box height, always ride FREE!! Thursday, September 7th is also Senior Citizen's Day at the fair. All seniors receive 1/2 price admission!
